Doctors from Hospital Universitari Mútua Terrassa, Spain visit Suining Central Hospital
From June 15 to 19, 2019, hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgeon Lilia Georgina Martinez De La Maza and oncology doctor Ekaterina Meshoulam Nikolaeva from Hospital Universitari Mútua Terrassa (HUMT), the Friendship Hospital of Suining Central Hospital (SCH), paid a 5-day academic visit to our hospital.
At 9am June 17, Chen Yongjun, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of SCH, had a friendly discussion with the two visiting doctors at the HIFU Center of the hospital, during which he extended a warm welcome to them and introduced the development of the HIFU Center in SCH. President Chen wished them a satisfactory exchange visit and hoped that they get to know more about the deep historical and cultural background in Suining and experience its beautiful scenery and delicacies in their spare time.
SCH signed the Friendship Hospital agreement with HUMT and established an all-round cooperative relationship in medical care, education, research, and hospital management in April, 2016. Since then the two hospitals have exchanged nearly 30 visitors in 12 groups for academic communication and visits. As the seventh group of visitors from HUMT, Lilia Georgina and Ekaterina Meshoulam aimed mainly to learn HIFU treatment techniques in our HIFU Center. In between their learning, they had in-depth communication with the staff in Oncology Center and Hepatobiliary Department which included case discussion, ward round, and operation observation. The two doctors also attended the 2019 5th Boji Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Forum, Seminar on Minimally Invasive Technologies in Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery, and the Forum on "Focusing on the Future" of Sichuan Professional Committee on Liver Diseases hosted by Sichuan Medical Association and organized by Suining Central Hospital, in which they had communication and discussion with other participants. They were also showed around the Obstetric Ward, Critical Care Medicine Department, Academician Workstation, and Oncology Precision Laboratory, etc.in the hospital, where they were deeply impressed by the advanced facilities and the work and scientific projects carried out.
During the 5-day visit, the two visiting doctors had full communication with the medical professionals of SCH on HIFU technology, clinical work, scientific research cooperation, English learning, and other aspects. The both sides shared experience with each other, learned from each other, and achieved satisfactory exchange effects. And their visit has further promoted the cooperation between the two hospitals to develop towards the depth.
