A delegation of 15 foreign medical experts visits Suining Central Hospital

On September 10, 2018, a 15-person delegation of medical experts from 8 countries including the Republic of Lithuania, Romania, the Republic of Bulgaria, the Republic of Poland, the Kingdom of Morocco, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, etc. visited Suining Central Hospital (SCH) to learn about the application of high intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) technology.

The delegation made field trips to the HIFU Center, Obstetrics and Gynecology Department, Interventional Radiology Center, and Hedong Branch of our hospital, where they had academic exchanges with the doctors.

At the reception meeting, Chen Yongjun, Party Committee Secretary and President of SCH, made a brief introduction about the development history of the hospital from the very beginning in 1914 through to the present, gave a general overview of the talent cultivation, discipline construction, scientific research and teaching work of the hospital. He also introduced in more detail the HIFU technology and its development in our hospital. The visitors inquired with interest about the development and operation of our HIFU Center. Chen Yongjun said, this is the first time that our hospital receives a joint delegation of eight countries. He hoped that this visit would enable the visitors to have a better understanding of HIFU, strengthen friendly exchanges, promote the HIFU technology farther and to a higher level, and make this good technology benefit patients all over the world.

In the afternoon, a symposium on HIFU technology was held, at which deep discussions into the clinical application of HIFU were made. The delegation highly appraised the HIFU technology and the environment of our hospital. They expressed their hopes that their own hospitals will establish friendly cooperative relations with SCH for further exchanges, and this technology may be introduced to their own countries to benefit more patients.
